Privacy Policy

Who we are

Fellwyn Studios Ltd (“Fellwyn Studios”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17522009). We make apps. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we’re the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@fellwynstudios.com.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website (fellwynstudios.com) and the apps we publish on Apple’s App Store. Each app’s App Store listing also has a “privacy details” section that summarises the data that particular app uses. If an app ever needs to handle data in a way this policy doesn’t already describe, we’ll update this policy before that app, or that version, is released.

Our approach

We collect as little as we can. Wherever possible, your data stays on your device or in your own iCloud account, where we can’t see it. We don’t sell personal data, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Data stored on your device and in your iCloud

Many of our apps store what you create in the app on your device. Where an app offers syncing, it uses Apple’s CloudKit to keep that data in the private database of your own iCloud account. We can’t access data in your private iCloud database. Apple stores and protects it under its own privacy policy, and you can manage or delete it through your device’s settings or your Apple Account.

Analytics and crash reports

To understand how our apps are used and to fix problems, our apps may collect:

We collect this data to keep our apps working well and to improve them, which is our legitimate interest. We aim to collect it in a form that doesn’t identify you, and we don’t combine it with other data to work out who you are.

Some of this data comes from Apple. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple gives us aggregated usage and crash information. We may also use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. Where we do, they act on our behalf, are only allowed to use the data to provide their service to us, and are named in the “Who we share data with” section below.

Data we store ourselves

At present, our apps don’t send your personal data to servers that we run. If a future feature needs us to store data ourselves, for example an account or sharing between users, we’ll explain what’s stored and why in the app and in its App Store privacy details, and we’ll update this policy before the feature is released.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions in our apps are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details. Apple tells us only what we need to provide what you’ve bought, such as whether a purchase is active.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare keeps this data only briefly, under its own privacy policy.

If you email us

If you email us, we’ll use your email address and anything you include to reply to you. We keep that correspondence for as long as we need it to help you, and then delete it.

Our legal bases

Under UK data protection law, we rely on:

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who help us run our apps and this website, and only for that purpose:

If we add an analytics or crash-reporting provider, we’ll name it here. We’ll never sell your personal data. We may disclose data if the law requires us to.

International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Analytics and diagnostic data is kept in aggregated or anonymised form, or deleted when we no longer need it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email hello@fellwynstudios.com. We’ll respond within one month. Data stored only on your device or in your iCloud account is under your control, and you can delete it at any time.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.

Children

Our apps aren’t designed to collect personal data from children, and we don’t knowingly do so. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when our apps or practices change, and change the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll make that clear here, and in our apps where appropriate.
